SORRY, WE ARE NOT OFFERING MANAGEMENT AND/OR DOE HUNTS AT THIS TIME
- All 2 ½ day hunts are inclusive of drinks, meals, and lodging for all hunters.

Non-hunting guests are welcome pending space availability for a guest fee of $250.00 per night.

Should a deer not be harvested during the allotted time frame, a $250.00 lodge fee per night will be charged along with a $250.00 guide fee per hunter and the hunter will be strongly encouraged to return.
RESERVATIONS AND DEPOSITS
To reserve your hunting trip, a non-refundable $1,000.00 deposit per hunter is required to hold your trip date and lodge accommodations. Balance is due prior to departure and payable by credit card, check, money order, or cash. Checks or money orders for deposits may be mailed to: Merryville Outfitters, 422 East College Street, Suite B, Lake Charles, LA 70605. We also accept credit cards via telephone with a 4% non-cash transaction fee.
Prices do not include guide fee or gratuity. Gratuity is not mandatory, but is always appreciated. If you have enjoyed your hunting experience with Merryville Outfitters, and our staff has done a great job with you and your party, give your guides and cooks a tip. It’s a great way to say thanks.
HUNTING LICENSE INFORMATION
A valid Louisiana hunting license is required and may be purchased from the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries website (http://www.wlf.louisiana.gov/)
If you were born on or after September 1, 1969, you must have a valid Hunters Education card, which must be in your possession while hunting. Exceptions to the Hunter Education Requirements as outlined by the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries are below:
- EXCEPT a person who has not completed a hunter education course may be issued a license with the restriction that they are accompanied by, and under the direct supervision of a person 18 years of age or older who has a valid hunting license or proof of successful completion of a hunter education course.
- EXCEPT a person younger than 16 years of age may hunt without such certificate if they are accompanied by, and under the direct supervision, of a person 18 years of age or older who has a valid hunting license or proof of successful completion of a hunter education course. “Direct Supervision” means that the person being supervised shall be within normal audible voice proximity and in direct line of sight of the supervising adult at all times while hunting.
- EXCEPT This requirement shall not apply to any active or veteran member of the United States armed services or any POST-certified law enforcement officer who may be issued a hunter education exemption. Application for this exemption may be filed at the LDWF office in Baton Rouge (225-765-2932) or any regional field office.
All Louisiana hunting regulations apply for the Deer Area 8 as defined by the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries. Whitetail hunting season is from October 1 – January 31. Exotic hunting season is year-round.

RESERVATIONS AND DEPOSITS
- Reservations will be accepted by phone or email. Dates will be held for seven (7) days until deposit is received. Upon receipt of deposit, a written confirmation of your trip details will be forwarded.
- Deposits are non-refundable, but can be honored within the same fiscal hunting season, pending availability, in the event of a cancellation within 72 hours prior to arrival.
- A $1,000.00 deposit per hunter is required for all scheduled hunts.
- Deposits are nontransferable and cannot be used as credit to pay for another hunter’s balance.
- Credit Card, check or money order only accepted for deposits.
- Balance due prior to departure and payable by credit card, check, money order, or cash.
ARRIVAL & DEPARTURE
- Check-in time is no earlier than 11:00 a.m. on the day of arrival.
HUNTING EQUIPMENT
- Hunter is responsible for personal gear and hunting license.
- All hunters are strongly encouraged to sight their weapon upon arrival at our premier firing range.
BLOOD, BONE, AND HAIR DRAW POLICY
- If blood, bone or hair is drawn from targeted animal on any hunting excursion, that animal is considered purchased and all fees will apply regardless of if animal is retrieved or not. Upon searching for a wounded animal, only the shooter, guides, and a search dog, if necessary, will attempt to retrieve the animal. All guides will make a diligent effort to track and locate any deer that is hit but there is no guarantee.
- Merryville Outfitters reserves the right to hire a search dog to attempt recovery of the animal in question for a $400.00 fee, at the clients expense.
NO TROPHY FEES! NO HIDDEN FEES!
- Merryville Outfitters does not impose any trophy fees or hidden fees. Your 2 ½ day hunting trip cost includes food, drinks, and lodging, along with transportation to and from our hunting locations, with an experienced hunting guide.
HUNTERS RESPONSIBILITIES
CONDITIONS
You Agree to the following:
- All guests must read and sign a Liability Release Waiver.
- All hunters must have a valid Hunter Education Card as outlined by the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries, which must be in hunter’s possession while hunting.
- All guests must agree to respect other hunters, guests, guides, and land owner’s property.
- All guests are prohibited from damaging or harming in anyway, livestock, fences, crops, and any other property of the land owner or outfitter.
- Merryville Outfitters abides by and expects all clients to abide by Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries Hunting Regulations.
PRIOR TO HUNTING YOU SHOULD KNOW
- It is handy to have a good quality LED flashlight.
- Check in is at 11:00 a.m. on day of arrival. No Exceptions.
- Purchase all licenses and permits prior to arrival.
- Firearm and crossbow hunters should bring shooting sticks.
- All hunters should bring knee high rubber boots.
